What is the “Paleo” diet?

 

The Paleolithic diet—better known as a “paleo” or caveman diet—is an eating regimen concentrating on completely natural foods, with the goal of improving physique and overall health. This is a proven diet: for thousands and thousands of years, humans evolved while eating nothing but natural foods, such as wild fruits, hunted meat and fish, vegetables, and such. These foods are high in protein and animal fat, while being low in carbohydrates—a combination suited for producing healthy and fit consumers. The paleo diet is conducive to burning away fat, increasing energy, and building lean muscle. Eating the right foods can have a giant impact on how your body sustains itself.
