Eggs: the perfect Paleo snack
Eggs are often considered to be a bad dietary habit, especially if you have any pre-disposition towards heart issues. Unfortunately, this “common knowledge” is entirely off-base. The problem arises that eggs contain a large amount of cholesterol. Now, large amounts of cholesterol have been found in plaque in the artries of those who had died of heart attacks. It was surmised that cholesterol content in foods eaten by these people had caused the plaque build up, thereby causing the heart attacks.
However, cholesterol is needed for every cell in our body. Ignoring its intake can cause many health issues, including deficiencies in estrogen, cortisol, testosterone, progesterone and DHEA.
Eggs also contain quality protein, zinc, and fats. They also contain large amounts of riboflavin, Vitamin B12, iron, phosphorus, and selenium. They’re useful in hundreds of foods and recipes and make a perfect paleo snack.
